Bricks & Click
Draft — to be reviewed by counsel

Terms of use

Plain-language terms for using Bricks & Click. This draft should be reviewed by a Nigerian lawyer before public launch.

1. What Bricks & Click is

Bricks & Click is an online marketplace that connects people who want to buy or rent property with owners, agents, caretakers and developers. We verify identities and review documents, but we are not a party to any sale or tenancy, and we do not give legal, financial or investment advice.

2. Your account

  1. You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information.
  2. One person, one account. A NIN or BVN can be linked to one account only.
  3. Keep your password and authenticator codes private. You are responsible for activity on your account.

3. Verification

Verification levels reflect the checks completed on an account or listing at a point in time. They are not a guarantee of title or of a person's conduct. Always carry out your own due diligence, including a legal search of title.

4. Listing rules

  1. List only properties you own or are authorised to list, and upload only genuine documents.
  2. Do not include phone numbers, e-mail addresses, links or street addresses in listing text.
  3. Prices and details must be accurate. We may remove or suspend listings that are misleading or reported.

5. Conduct

No fraud, harassment or attempts to move users off the platform to avoid its protections. Contact details in chat are hidden until an invoice is issued; attempting to bypass this may lead to suspension.

6. Invoices and payments

Invoices on the platform record an agreement between two users. Bricks & Click does not currently process or hold payments. Escrow services, when introduced, will be subject to additional terms.

7. Liability

To the extent the law allows, Bricks & Click is not liable for losses arising from transactions between users. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

8. Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will notify you of material changes. Governing law: Federal Republic of Nigeria.
